More remix-culture from the demoscene
Yet another time I will write in regards to the remix-culture of the demoscene. Reason being that I want to promote a couple of essentials for anyone interested in this wonderful subculture. Previous posts can be found here, here and here.
The documentary movie "The 8-Bit Philosophy" takes a peek behind the scene and focuses on the musicians of the remix-culture. The movie features plenty of interesting interviews with many acclaimed scene-musicians as for instance Chris Hüelsbeck, Eike "Romeo Knight" Steffen (playing the guitar in this clip of the retro-band 6581) and Reyn Ouwehand. More info and links for downloading is available here. Among many notable things in the movie I especially appreciated what Jan Zottman said in relation to the Information Era. The following words are very important to bear in mind and be aware of for any aspiring musician wanting to benefit from today's opportunities:
What's great about Internet is how interest groups find each other; across Europe, across the world. However small the niche - people connect.

There is a great web-radio channel called SceneSat which features excellent remixes from the demoscene. They have released a compilation of music called The Sound of SceneSat Volume 1 which is likely to whet your appetite for more. Download it now!

I included a few links to members of the scene in my link-list available in the sidebar (category "Scenen"). They might be of interest for reasons of pure nostalgia or for just getting a feel for the good old days.
It is time to wrap this up but before I do so I want to prolong a sincere message to Timbaland and Universal Music Group on behalf of The Pirate Party of Sweden and many, many more all over the globe:
It is too late to apologize! Just show Glenn Rune Gallefoss the money and respect his rights of attribution.
Do It!

The revolution is here so please, help our struggle for freedom, integrity and peer2peership!
