Gallefoss vs Timbaland - Newsflash
Due to international and Internetional demand, which I hereby respectfully acknowledge, this will be my first blog-post written in English. My initial post about the injustice towards Glenn Rune Gallefoss was very well received and got a lot of attention. Earlier tonight I was notified by a reader that the YouTube-embedding of Nelly Furtado's "Do It" featured in the post did not work. After checking it out it appeared my reader was correct. It did not work! What made it so much more interesting was that the cause was due to the clip having been blocked by explicit request from Vevo. Currently this is what meets the eye when you try to watch the embedded original clip from within Sweden:

I get a strong feeling the shit has finally hit the fan...
Obviously someone at Vevo and/or their part-owner Universal Music Group thought pulling the video was indeed the right way to go. I beg to slightly differ but what could I possibly know about the Information Era that the big four doesn't already know (or at least refuse to absorb)? Anyway, here is another embedding of the same clip, i.e. Nelly Furtado and "Do It" (once again stay alert at about 18 seconds into the clip):
So what, if anything, caused such a reaction? After all, the copyright industry and it's lobby is well known for it's persistent efforts on sending out takedown notices on YouTube, MySpace and other similar communities.
What makes this one stand out is that it was their own video. Obviously, I don't know so I can only speculate that the following might have something to do with it considering the timing of Vevo/Universal:
- The post generated plenty of traffic for a few days (and for a Swedish blog) with the average being around 600+ visits/day and the most at close to 900 visits.
- It received a lot of attention generating plenty of linking in the Swedish blogosphere.
- Among linkers were Pirate Party leader Rick Falkvinge, vice party leader Anna Troberg and last but not least famed Swedish award winning blogger Emma "Internet Boss" Opassande.
A big thank you to the following bloggers:

If you are a fan of the great remix-culture of the demoscene please support it's many brilliant musicians. Plenty of excellent chipmusic can be found at Remix64 so head over there after reading this post!
It is time to wrap this up but before I do so I want to prolong a sincere message to Timbaland and Universal Music Group on behalf of The Pirate Party of Sweden and many, many more all over the globe:
It is too late to apologize! Just show Glenn Rune Gallefoss the money and respect his rights of attribution.
Do It!
If you enjoyed this post, please apply our motto in regards to your friends and social networks: Sharing is caring!
The revolution is here so please, help our struggle for freedom, integrity and peer2peership!

The Pirate Party is a grassroots movement originating from Sweden though now being copied in several other countries and places throughout the globe (and most likely New Caprica City). We recently entered the European Parliament (Amelia & Christian) and are now setting sails for the Swedish Parliament which - The Internets willing - will be entered by fall this year.

removing "your own" content on youtube is getting pretty advanced these days, with automatic frequency analysis and whatnot. and since vevo's business model is based on moving content from youtube to vevo, it seems pretty likely that this was a coincidence. but, for the sake of data-drama, i hope not. :)
